More community based content
I'd like to first start off by saying that Guild Wars is easily one of the finest MMOs that I have ever played. As good as it is, however, it is lacking a certain amount of non-combat stuff. I've heard countless, wonderful suggestions about some community based actions and events aimed at allowing players the ability to do something other than sit around and kill things all day. I'd like to list a few things myself. If i copied someone's idea, please don't get mad at me... chances are I didn't see it. Anyways, if you have other ideas, please post them (but don't make them way too off the wall... I'd like to keep this at least somewhat realistic).
My first suggestion is more serviced-based ways to make money. Currently, the only thing I can think of is running. What if a certain "contract" system was introduced. You know, like some level 20 monk offers his assitance to some low level players, but charges them 200 gold... if contracts were introduced, maybe the low level players could specify which of the current quests they wanted completed and what they offered for that completion. The monk can then accept the contract and upon completion of the quests, the items and money are transferred to the monk.
Also, a good way for people to advertise wares. What if there was a way for someone to specify an item as "for sale". And that item was added to a list (that looked similar to a trader's list) of all the items people wanted to sell. That way, all a buyer has to do is open the list and scroll down to see what's for sale.
Also, weddings seem to be a pretty big topic... check the trading forums to see the thread about them. It would be cool if weddings were supported by the game... I'm not going to go into all the logistics of it, but I'm sure the ANet team could come up with a great idea.
Anyways... those are all of my ideas for now. Maybe someone else has suggestions or comments for these?
